Welcome to podcasting for coaches. I'm Britany Felix and I'm a podcast launch consultant who specializes in helping coaches and consultants utilize the power of podcasting as a way to build brand awareness and generate new leads for their business. I realize not every new coach or consultant can afford to hire someone to help launch their show. So I created this podcast as a way to guide you through the process of launching and utilizing your very own podcast to help you grow your business and reach a new audience of adoring followers and potential clients. If you're ready to get your voice and podcast out into the world, head over to podcasting for coaches.com to learn more. Welcome to Episode 33 of podcasting for coaches. In this episode, we are going to talk about different ways that you can celebrate your podcast launch. So reaching this moment of being able to celebrate your launch is a huge accomplishment. So first of all, if you're listening to this, because you are approaching your lunch, and you want to have some ideas for how to celebrate that, congratulations, you seriously have already gotten to a point that so many 1000s of people before you have never made it to. So my first suggestion as a way to celebrate the launch is for you specifically, find some way to celebrate privately, reward yourself in some way with a massage appointment, or by hiring a VA to start helping you with things, or just treating yourself to whatever it is that brings you joy and happiness because you deserve it. So now when it comes to talking about celebrating the launch publicly, I have a few suggestions for you. One thing that some people do to celebrate their podcast launch is they have an actual launch party. The thing about podcasting is it can seem pretty one sided. A lot of the times, especially in the launch phase, when not a whole lot of people really know much about it, they haven't really listened to it, and they can't really relate to it yet. And then once you launch, it can sometimes just feel like you're in your own world just talking to yourself, and you're never sure if anybody is really listening. So having an in person launch is a great way to break that barrier. And bridge the gap between you sitting in a room all alone recording and talking to yourself and actually connecting with the people who are going to be listening to your words. So for something like this, you definitely want to advertise it well in advance and have things scheduled and planned in advance so that people can actually attend. Depending on the existing size of your audience and how many people you plan on inviting and who's going to attend, that will dictate the size of the space that you'll need to rent out. I of course, don't really recommend this being in your personal home, because you want to invite your audience, your fans, those people who are going to be engaging in your content, this will be an incredible opportunity for them to connect with you. Now, of course, they have to already be locally in your area. But depending on where you live, say if you're in New York, for example, that's going to be a lot of people. So put some feelers out and take a poll with your audience and see who would want to attend a free launch party to celebrate your podcast being available to the world. And then during this launch party, of course, you want to network and connect with everyone. But you also still want to talk about your podcast. So I recommend making a little bit of a speech and explaining what the podcast is, and what your hopes are for it, and how the people who are attending can be a part of that journey with you and can help support you. And of course, we want to take the time during this event to actually get everyone there subscribed to your show. So do a little tutorial explain how people with Android devices can subscribe on Google podcasts. Explain how Apple users can subscribe on Apple podcasts. And then if they're already using a podcast app that's different, they should know how to find your show. And you can sit there with them and get them subscribed. Now if you have hundreds of people attending this event, this might take a little while, which is why I recommend doing it kind of more like a Hey, everybody, I want to show you something really quick. I want to get you subscribed to my show. If you're Apple do this, if you're Google do this assist. If you use another device, just search for blah, blah, blah, in the apogee prefer simple and easy and you'll have everyone there subscribed and super excited about your show. So the next thing that I recommend is essentially doing kind of the same thing. But on Facebook or YouTube Live really wherever you can broadcast something live and connect with your audience in real time. And so you're basically just doing the same thing, except it's just you you're not really inviting anyone else to come on with you. And so in this situation, you definitely a want to explain how to subscribe to the show. And be you might do something more like an AMA style thing so and ask me anything type of live video. So anyone who's tuning in, and again, I recommend planning this in advance and setting up an actual event so that your audience can be invited to this. They can see their attending. They're reminded of the time they have all of the information for where it's going to happen and when and then they can chime in during this call and ask you whatever questions They have for you, they can connect with you in real time, and you can start forming that bond. This will also be a very good way to get your existing audience who has no idea what podcasts are educated and understanding how they can connect with you on this new medium. So the next thing that I recommend is something that's fairly common. And that is like a contest or a giveaway. So hype up the event, once you're launched, let everyone in your audience know, hey, I'm doing this really cool giveaway for whatever the item is, if you have a book, maybe give that away, or, you know, a free coaching session, or whatever it is that is relevant to your business, not just something random and fun, you can throw that in there as a bonus, but we definitely want to have something relative to your business. And then what you want to ask your audience to do. And I would recommend that this be a random drawing, you can use a number of random websites that will take all of the submissions and just generate a random, you know, winner or selection, but have them take screenshots on their devices showing that they have subscribed to your show. And you can maybe even do bonuses for ratings and reviews, during this long celebration phase. And you can do this during the in person party, you could do this during the Facebook Live any of these events, is pretty much the only time that you will ever hear me say to ask for ratings and reviews, because every other time, we have much more important call to actions to use. But during this contest and giveaway, you can have it be an extra bonus entry for a rating and review. And then you can also maybe even have extra bonuses if they share on Facebook and they make it a public post. And then maybe even a bonus for everyone who shares their post. So all kinds of different things that you can do, just make sure that you're aware that you're going to have to have a way for them to easily submit these screenshots to you. And then you're going to have to have someone whether that's your a VA, go through and actually verify these, you know, make sure that the screenshots are legit, and that they've actually shared and check how many times it's been shared. And you know, to put their name onto a list of June button, this random generator. And then what I recommend doing is don't just randomly draw a winner, whenever it's convenient for you make a big deal out of it, make that part of the celebration, give them you know, 24 hours to do this, and they've got to get it to you right away, all the excitement still there, the buzz is there, you've got the new episodes, and then do a live video, where you actually show your screen film your screen, where it's picking the winner and make a huge celebration out of it and make it really fun and exciting. And then tag them in the post so that they can get in on it and be really excited, don't just do it quietly and email them make a huge deal out of it. Because then you're going to have the rest of your audience who is going to be kind of super bummed that they didn't win, but still excited to have been a part of the process. And if they're bummed they didn't win, especially if it's a prize for your business, you can always say, hey, for anyone else who participated in this, I'm gonna go ahead and give you 10% off of this package or this product as a way of saying thank you just whatever it is. And then that way, they still feel like they're getting some kind of a reward. And then that might be the incentive for them to finally buy something from you, if they haven't yet. So the last thing I want to touch about is the fact that there's not a whole lot of these really super exciting, launch celebration ideas out there, which is one reason I wanted to do this episode. But I still feel like even these suggestions are pretty basic. And they're pretty obvious. I actually went into the sheep podcast Facebook group, which is my favorite Facebook group for podcasting in general with the general community. And I put a post out there for people to let me know like, what really fun and unique things have you done? Or have you seen to promote a podcast launch, and it was crickets. And any other time I post I get engagement I have people always respond to my comments. So it's not that the engagements out there in this group, because it definitely is super active. It's just that nobody really thinks about this aspect of the watch. They think about all of the technical aspects that come before it. And then they think about everything they need to do with their new episodes. So promoting on social media and getting guests and recording these interviews and getting them to share it. But they forget to actually celebrate this huge achievement in this huge milestone that they have reached. So please don't just have it be on launch day a random post on your social media account saying hey, guess what my podcast live, go check it out. Make it fun that you deserve it, and your audience deserves it. So if you have come across, whether with your own podcast if you've already launched one before, or somebody else's podcast, a really unique and fun and cool way of celebrating a podcast launch, I want to hear about it. Head on over to the podcasting for coaches Facebook community, and let me know when there what that is. In order to access that group.
